Woodwork is the art that we chose to address in the IV chapter of the Embracing Slow Making series. Wood is a timeless material. If, on one hand, it is extremely common, it can be equally endowed with an incredible individuality: the play between colours, textures and veins, which arise with the work on each piece of wood, is unique and special.

At every new dawn, we serenely return to places which are special for us.

Our well-being depends on the well-being of planet Earth. Small gestures on our daily lives are valuable contributions to the protection and conservation of the Earth.

We chose Casas na Areia, in Comporta, Portugal, to photograph our Spring-Summer 2020 collection. The moments were captured by Joana Quintanilha, in this wonderful day when we were able to count on our invited artist participation, Rita Sevilha. It was at school, with ten years old, that Rita had her first experience with Weaving. Twenty years later, she discovered the looms made by her maternal grandfather and since then, she never stopped creating.

Winter is no longer an excuse to stay at home! With so much to explore, it is best to make sure that children are ready for the cold and enjoy the beauty of family moments. This is how to create happy memories that will last a lifetime.

Catarina Seixas, author of the blog “The Olive trees + the moon”, was our invited artist in the Autumn-Winter 2019 collection. Catarina found in knitting and Portuguese wool, the perfect tools to give expression to her lifestyle in close contact with nature. We tell here a little more about her story!
